The Computer Repair and Share Club is an official club of Manchester Community College in Connecticut, and a non-profit organization.
Free Computer Giveaways
The club provides any student of the MCC community free (used) computers which are donated to the club by the school’s IT department and other local businesses. Anyone can apply, as long as they are current MCC students. The club holds drawings every semester to see who will receive a computer (usually after we receive a new batch of computers).
The majority of computers we receive are PC’s; usually desktop form factor. In the past, we have given away other types of computers, including laptop computers and Apple Macintosh computers. The brand and style that we give away is based solely on the brand and style that are donated.
We (as club members) have no influence as to which styles we give away, nor who gets what type of computer. When someone is selected to receive a computer, the computers are given away in a first-come-first-serve fashion.
